Colourfolds

Tony’s ‘Colourfolds‘ are created by cutting, scoring, folding and stitching together layers of photographic lighting gels and single matt drafting film: an acid-free polyester film traditionally used by architects. Avoidiing impermanent adhesive entirely, the artwork is sewn onto its backing board using semi-transparent thread.

Each stage of the process is undertaken by hand to create a seamless surface whose colours or patterns appear to change as the angle of light, or the type of light, changes.

All artworks are framed in FSC-certified, white-stained obeche wooden box frames with UV70 non-reflective artglass.

Summer Tessellation

Like the above, were created from a process of scoring, folding, and stitching together layers of photographic lighting gels and single matte drafting film,.
